Ustinov Studio, Saturday 27 January 2018
A brand new all-female five-piece bluegrass band will be performing songs from their debut album in an exclusive showcase at the Ustinov Studio later this month.
MIDNIGHT SKYRACER have been taking the UK Festival scene by storm last summer, and release their first album, Fire, in February. Bath bluegrass fans will have the chance to hear these songs performed live in the intimate setting of the Ustinov Studio on Saturday 27 January.
Featuring an all-star line-up of some of the UK’s top instrumentalists and singers, the band play hard driving traditional and modern classics, taking inspiration from the likes of other great female artists such as Rhonda Vincent and Alison Krauss.
MIDNIGHT SKYRACER is made up of mandolin player and singer Leanne Thorose, who has previously toured the world withEssence of Ireland, and recorded a solo album in Nashville, home of the Country Music Hall of Fame; banjo prodigy Tabitha Agnew, who at the age of 18 has already performed all over the world with Northern Irish band Cup o’ Joe; fiddle player Lauraand guitarist Charlotte Carrivick, who have performed together as The Carrivick Sisters, and with the progressive bluegrass quartet Cardboard Fox; and double bass player Eleanor Wilkie, renowned for her unobtrusive playing and slapbass solos with many UK bluegrass ensembles.
MIDNIGHT SKYRACER are performing at the Ustinov Studio on Saturday 27 January at 7.30pm. Tickets are on sale now from the Box Office on 01225 448844 or online at www.theatreroyal.org.uk/ustinov
