Talking Tales, Bristol’s finest story telling night, comes to the Bath Fringe Festival on Sunday 5th June. Stokes Croft Writers bring a selection of tales from Bristol’s best writing talents to Burdall’s Yard.

Expect entertaining and edgy stories from the creative heart of Bristol in a one-off inter-city invasion. The organisers, Stokes Croft Writers, say

‘It’s probably for one night only…although the temptation to set up an independent state may yet get the better of us.’

Banksy’s attendance is not guaranteed or ruled out – who would know? Expect laughs and zombies in equal measure.

Badges will be worn. Bonnets not required.

Stokes Croft Writers is an ambitious writing group committed to writing and encouraging others to do so. Apart from sharing works-in-progress with each other, their website has links to various stories on the internet and provides resources and guidance for writers. Spanning various fictional genres, many of the group’s stories have been published on-line and in print.

In April 2015, Stokes Croft Writers started the story telling night ‘Talking Tales’ in Bristol. Talking Tales has quickly established itself as a successful part of the vibrant Bristol spoken word scene, with a reputation for entertainment and innovative performance. In October 2015, Talking Tales hosted the closing event of the 2015 Bristol Festival of Literature. This 2-hour event, like its predecessors, will be audio recorded and podcast on YouTube. Suitable for over 16s.

The Bath Fringe is the first Talking Tales on tour event, with aspirations to appear at different venues and events in Bristol and at Universities and festivals in future.
