The students of Bath Academy of Musical Theatre will be performing the song cycle Elegies for Angels, Punks & Raging Queens for their end of year showcase on Monday 15th June at 6:30pm.

The musical is a celebration and reflection of the lives lost to AIDS – told in free verse monologues with a blues, jazz & rock score. The piece is designed to include the community in a theatrical response to the AIDS crisis, and boasts a score that is moving, soulful and uplifting.

Bath Academy of Musical Theatre will be performing the song cycle to raise funds for the Terrence Higgins Trust. Lasting approximately one hour, the performance is free of charge with the opportunity to make a donation to the charity at the end.

Elegies for Angels, Punks & Raging Queens will be performed at The Roper Theatre in Hayesfield Girls School, Bath.

Founded by Rob Hickmore and Tim King, Bath Academy of Musical Theatre is now approaching its fifth year offering the best musical theatre training in the area. The course focusses on audition preparation and is a must for anyone wishing to gain entry to full time drama school and musical theatre courses.

Due to Rob and Tim’s connections within the industry and top drama schools, students at Bath Academy of Musical Theatre are regularly treated to masterclasses with highly experience West End performers, composers and directors including Mary Hammond (Royal Academy of Music), Kerry Ellis (We Will Rock You, Cats, Wicked) and Oliver Tompsett (Wicked, Rock Of Ages & We Will Rock You).

BAMT staff are all professionals from the musical theatre world in both performance and teaching. Their previous students have gained places at institutions including Central School Of Speech & Drama, GSA, Mountview, Royal Academy of Music, Bristol Old Vic, LIPA & ArtsEd.

Bath Academy of Musical Theatre will be holding the next round of auditions on Monday 29th June – for students wishing to train with them from September 2015.
