Bath Dance collaborate with photographer Kevin Clifford to present Bath DanScape, a 4 week-long public exhibition trail across Bath’s City Centre between 10 August and 7 September, showcasing 12 striking images to highlight and celebrate dance in Bath and North East Somerset.
Local residents and visitors are invited to discover eye-catching images of 30 local dancers; an opportunity to see B&NES based landscapes through their eyes and imagination.
Dancers from a diverse range of genres, including Jane Austen, Contemporary to Somerset Morris Dancing have collaborated with Kevin on individual photo shoots, using their creativity and bodies to capture the shape, light and atmosphere of B&NES landscapes.
Kevin has over 30 years experience of working in the photography and film industry and has become renowned for his work with dancers and landscapes. Kevin’s unique process enables the dancer to ‘own’ the space first and be photographed second allowing each shot to stand out individually.
The images will be exhibited in the public realm, linked by a trail map that will guide each person on a journey from photo to photo. The images are also placed in spaces that have a natural footfall, where people can happen across the image by chance in their everyday life.
Each image will be tailored to and create a presence for dance at its host venue, which includes windows, walls, doors and foyers of buildings including Society Café, 44AD Art Space, Green Park Station, Bath Spa Stations, Bath Central Library and Milsom Place.
