Bath Light Operatic Group return to the Roper Theatre, West Wing, Hayesfield School, Bath this year with their annual Songs from the Shows concert. This year the theme is celebrating 60 years of performing at the Theatre Royal Bath and the audience will be taken on a journey ‘Around the World’ of musicals including songs from ‘Oklahoma’, ‘South Pacific’, ‘Miss Saigon’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Les Miserables’ and ‘Kiss Me Kate’.

The theme is based on shows that the group have performed at the Theatre Royal Bath over the last 60 years, but also includes songs from shows that the group would like to perform in the future or cannot get the chance to because of performing rights. This year’s concert is unique because BLOG members had the opportunity to put forward their own ideas for the song choices in the concert. Over 800 different songs were suggested that had to be whittled down to just 30. Chairman Helen Feierabend says

“This year’s Songs from the Shows will be an unmissable show as it includes not only some of the greatest songs in musical history, but has a perfectly balanced cast to go with it.”

The production is played by a 40 strong cast of ages 18- 70, who live in Bath and its surrounding areas, Trowbridge, Bradford- on- Avon, Midsomer Norton and Saltford.
