Bath Spa Theatre Society have launched a new initiative to help students to get their work seen. Whether they have a play they have always wanted to direct or a play they have written, students have the chance to pitch their ideas to the society and are then given support to create their performance.

Last academic term ‘Menthols’ by Clare Hennelly was chosen and was performed to an invited audience at the University. This term the society has been able to offer students the chance to put their work on at Burdall’s Yard, allowing their work to be more accessible to the public.

This term’s show will be ‘On Her Shoulder’ written and directed by Dan Elliman, with Movement Direction from Megan Robertson and co-ordinated by Alex
Latham. The cast includes, Heather Livings, Olivia Cox, Rob Beresford and Millie Thurley – who are all students at the University studying a variety of degrees.

On Her Shoulder is a brave piece of new writing which questions right and wrong and looks at what we are capable off when pushed to the limits.
