Bath’s fastest growing Theatre School is launching a new Saturday afternoon school from 06 Sept. Bath Theatre School was opened in September 2012 by a local performing trio to offer children a unique theatrical experience. Now embarking on its third year, the School which offers children aged 7+ dancing, singing and acting lessons, will be opening the new Saturday afternoon School in addition to its well established morning school and will be raising its upper student age to 18.

What makes the school distinctive is that it offers nationally recognised qualifications in Solo Musical Theatre from Trinity College London as part of the standard teaching and without any additional cost. The teaching and syllabus is carefully constructed to support and developlife skills that are relevant to all children, in areas such as team work, communication, creativity, leadership, public speaking, confidence building, co-ordination and much more, whilst also offering a basis to build a future in performing, with higher grades carrying UCAS points for higher education.

As well as general stage skills and receiving master classes from professional performers who share expertise in areas such as stage combat, stage make up and specialist dance genres, the school gives children the opportunity to perform in a professionally staged production. The school’s last show of Guys and Dolls was described as “a marvel” by critics, with “harmonious” singing, “engaging and comedic dialogue” and “energetically executed” dancing. Children joining in September will be offered the chance to perform in their next musical of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s smash hit Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
