Music is Life Productions, the award winning Bath based creators of New Musical Theatre, return to The Rondo in May with Busk The brand New Musical by Dan Lashbrook

This May sees the première of the brand-new musical Busk from the award-winning Music is Life Productions, based in Bath. Written and composed by Dan Lashbrook and directed by Petra Schofield, Busk will run at The Rondo Theatre from 23 -26th May. Prior to touring, these dates are an opportunity to see the ever-growing range of material from this thrilling Bath-based production company using the best of city’s local talent.

Busk is the tale of Donnie, a young girl with big dreams who falls into an underworld which leaves her with heartbreak and loss. The many characters she meets along the way refuel her optimism and perhaps, one day, she will achieve her dream.

Multi-award winning Music is Life Productions, also recently nominated for a Creative Bath Award, is a Bath-based company creating and producing new musical theatre. Previous shows, all of which premièred at The Rondo Theatre in Larkhall, are The Decent Rogues and Pencoweth. These shows toured to The Bridewell Theatre, London as well as the world-famous Minack Theatre, Cornwall. Cast recordings are available on iTunes and now licensed for use by other theatre companies.

Under the watchful gaze of theatre director Petra Schofield, the cast have been rehearsing since January to bring the show to life. Due to interest and demand, further dates across the region are already being planned. There is a huge range of musical styles in Busk and its urban theme is a break from the norm. Local GP Dan Lashbrook who composed and wrote the show explains, “There is definitely a new twist to the previous achievements which has provided a great opportunity for the cast to explore a gritty new show. The cast recording is currently under development. This vibrant new musical is already taking off at the Box Office. Don’t miss out!”

Busk appears at the Rondo Theatre Bath from Wednesday May 23rd – Saturday May 26th book tickets via the Rondo Website: or Box Office 0333 666 3366
