Chapel Arts Centre is proud to present a FREE evening with the Bath Blues Brothers on Friday 11 January 2013.
After Bath Tourism Plus stopped the Bath Blues Brothers mid-set during their performance at Bath’s Christmas Market, Phillip Andrews, Director of Chapel Arts approached the band and offered them a gig at his venue instead.
Jan Cottington, the Centre Manager says, “Many of you may have heard the unfortunate goings on with this popular Bath band and their problems at the gig organized by Bath Tourism Plus. After approaching us and asking for help we have taken the step of hosting an evening with them at no cost to them, so they can be as effervescent & entertaining as ever.”
Mark Sellick, a band member of the Bath Blues Brothers commented, “When our performance was cut short last weekend, we were as disappointed as those that had braved the cold to come out and support us. We feel that we should now give those people an opportunity to watch the remaining 90% of a Bath Blues Brothers gig, and thanks to Chapel Arts Centre, who after hearing our story kindly offered their venue completely free of charge, we would like to invite everyone to come and enjoy what Bath Tourism Plus sadly missed out on!”
They will be supported by the ever popular Bath Guitar School.
“I am delighted to be assembling a band of talented axe-wielding students from Bath Guitar School in support of the Bath Blues Brothers at the Chapel Arts Centre. Band members include teen students Fraser Osborne, Josh Vince and Iwan Bond, as well as BBB guitarists Olly Liu and Dylan Ambasna-Jones. The band is backed by Ali Dagger on drums and fronted by singer Mimi Templar-Gay from Kingswood School. The Bath Guitar School band will be performing classic rock songs and modern hits in a set that is sure to get you up and rockin’!” Richard Perkins, Bath Guitar School.
