Many years ago, in January 2004, Curtain Up Theatre School opened its doors for the first time.
Now Bath’s leading independent Theatre School, it has become formed a way of life for many families in Bath, in particular, the Robertson family.
Brothers, Tom and Andrew Robertson were part of the founding families to join the Theatre School, aged just 8 and 6 years old.
Over the years, the brothers developed their skills and talents and progressed through the Curtain Up Acts. As their skills developed, they took part in numerous productions and activities both on a Saturday morning and also outside of Curtain Up hours. These included numerous end of term performances, award winning, sold out productions in Bath or extravaganza’s in London’s West End Theatres, qualified in LAMDA and Trinity exams, filmed for the BBC and made lifelong friends.
Both boys stayed with us until they left to study at University! Andrew is now in Reading, whilst Tom graduated this year with a degree in Drama from The University of the West of England. Curtain Up is well known for its excellent teaching staff and our newest recruit Tom Robertson is no exception!
Having been taught and trained for over 10 years by Tristan Carter, Curtain Up’s Head of Drama, Tom knows exactly the high standards Curtain Up demands – his lessons are exciting and dynamic and it is a pleasure to now name him as a staff member.
Sarah Carter, Principal of Curtain Up commented,
“I do have a special hope for Tom though – I hope that he never has to take care of a small nine year old boy who is sick through excitement on the back of the Theatre Royal Stage, Drury Lane, London as I once did……….
Good Luck to Tom – we look forward to many years of working with you as a colleague”
