Fiddle and banjo in a beautiful, intimate acoustic setting
“A bold and beautiful singing style all her own.” BBC Radio
Hannah Martin is an award-winning singer, songwriter, fiddle-and-banjo player, representing the new generation of English folk; weaving old and new folklore into melodic pieces of storytelling. On 21 February, Hannah will be playing for our Singularities series in the fabulous new ‘Stables’ venue at the American Museum in Bath, the perfect setting for her acoustic set.
Hannah’s work is a defining example of a traditional form, evolving and expanding to incorporate new sounds, techniques and stories to present to modern audiences. Hannah has recorded in Nashville, and recently appeared as special guest at the Royal Albert Hall for a sold-out show with Show of Hands. She tours regularly with renowned slide guitarist Philip Henry and recently received the “Best Folk Act 2012” at the South West Music Awards.
This is a rare chance to see a solo performance from Hannah Martin in an intimate acoustic setting.
