Join us for our new season of cutting-edge contemporary visual arts, dance and music. This season all our events are free admission.
Shobana Jeyasingh Dance presents TooMortal, a beautiful, mesmerising work for an historic church setting in Bath. On a similar theme, Liminal present a sound installation, Of This Parish around Bath Abbey’s bells. Get involved in the creation of the piece by taking part in a workshop with David Prior and Frances Crow of Liminal.
Artist Louisa Fairclough’s solo exhibition weaves together the threads of musical hallucinations, chromesthesia and sketchbook imaginings. We welcome back Luca Silvestrini’s Protein for a special celebration of dance in (In)visible Dancing taking place in Bath City Centre. Be prepared for an entertaining performance that will sweep you away from your daily cares.
Artist Richard Woods celebrates his unique ICIA commissioned piece New Growth No.3. Over 100m of hoardings around a student accommodation block at the University have been transformed to create a lively, creative environment for students and staff whilst construction work takes place. Deborah Robinson showcases her latest exhibition as part of National Science Week with Parasite, an audio-visual experience that evokes awareness of the cyclical, recursive elements of malaria.
Don’t miss Site, Sound and Place at the Little Theatre Cinema, a wonderful opportunity to experience a range of cross-artform talks and discussions with Shobana Jeyasingh, Louisa Fairclough and Liminal. All three artists explore an interest in the relationship between site, sound and place, chaired by author Iain Sinclair.
Look out for our Thursday Art Cafes throughout the season and as always, we bring you excellent classes across all arts disciplines with tutors worthy of one of the top universities in the country. Our classes are open to public as well as students. You can also see the fantastic variety of student performance in various venues on campus and in town.
