Puppet Lab bring their ever popular production of Each Peach Pear Plum featuring songs, music and a wide range of puppets to Bath’s egg theatre on Tuesday 28th May and Wednesday 29th May.
“a charming show, a deft weave of fairy tales and an ingenious set” – The Guardian
Adapted from the popular book by Janet and Allan Ahlberg, Each Peach Pear Plum features an interactive game of “I Spy” for audiences aged three years and over. Set in a delightful green meadow with a river running through it, the stage production brings to life a variety of nursery rhyme characters including Tom Thumb, Baby Bunting and the Three Bears, all on their way to Mother Hubbard’s for some Plum Pie.
“Each Peach Pear Plum is about getting children to join in”, says Director, Symon Macintyre, “in an engaging way where they have to draw on nursery rhymes they’ve learned.”
Since Puppet Lab was founded in 1984, from its base in Leith near Edinburgh, it has introduced children and adults to puppetry through its beautifully crafted and imaginative productions, which have toured extensively throughout the UK and Ireland.
Graffiti Classics make a welcome return to the egg theatre to present a concert with a difference for everyone over the age of two on Saturday 1st June. With sixteen strings, eight dancing feet and four voices, it’s a classical concert, a gypsy-folk romp, an opera, a stand-up comedy set and a brilliant dance show all rolled into one, with scintillatingly slapstick, brilliant musical arrangements and mischievous humour.
Graffiti Classics perform a wide variety of music from Hungarian folk to hornpipes and polkas, with a little Mozart, Bach and Strauss added for good measure. This “stand-up string quartet” has entertained audiences around the world with its virtuosic musical talents, combining music, with dance, song and comedy routines.
Founded in 1997 by four young professional musicians, who met whilst busking in Covent Garden, Graffiti Classics unique style provides a refreshing insight into the world of classical music for everyone, whatever their age, moving the classical string quartet into the 21st Century.
