Party In The City

The 2014 Bath International Music Festival begins with a free party at venues in the city centre.

The night begins as BA1 Records presents ‘POP!’ #Whatever’ (6:00pm – 9:00pm) with the best unsigned music talent from Bath, before Clyve and the Soul City Foundation (9:15pm – 10:00pm) take to the stage for a night of soul dance classics and tracks from his new album.

10cc’s Graham Gouldman & Heart Full Of Songs

Heart Full of Songs performances feature many of the popular 10cc classics, along with Bridge To Your Heart (from Graham’s time in Wax with the late Andrew Gold), other Gouldman compositions and material from his acclaimed latest solo album Love And Work. With 10cc having toured UK arenas with Status Quo last December and their next solo concert tour not scheduled until the autumn, Graham is taking Heart Full of Songs on tour again in May, this time as a three-piece with Mike Stevens and Iain Hornal, with percussion contributions from Dave Cobby. A Heart Full of Songs concert is truly a night to remember.

Miles Jupp Is The Chap You’re Thinking Of

Miles Jupp – actor, writer and comedian – is making a return to stand-up and going on his first live UK tour since the hugely successful Fibber In The Heat with which he toured the UK twice and performed in London’s West End in 2012. He’s not been all that idle since – regularly appearing on Have I Got News For You and Mock The Week as well as an assortment of other shows of that ilk. In this show Miles will be discussing/ranting/describing: himself, you, domestic imprisonment, fatherhood, having to have opinions, hot drinks, the bloody government, bad balance, housing, ill health, the ageing process, navigation, other people’s pants and, inevitably, a number of other things.

Metropolis Music Presents: Peace

Based out of Birmingham, Peace create drifting, melodic indie rock that merges the crawling atmosphere of classic post-punk with the pop-oriented bounce of modern bands like Vampire Weekend.

Formed by brothers Harrison and Samuel Koisser, on vocals/guitar and bass, respectively, as well as guitarist Douglas Castle and drummer Dominic Boyce, the band came together in 2010 before gaining recognition among the UK press with its debut record, In Love, released in early 2013.

After several years cutting a truly original path between rap music and comedy, Abandoman are stepping up their award-winning game. Now with a full band they present their newest and biggest show to date: Moonrock Boombox. In it they innovate mixtape mashups and futuristic jams live on stage, using the history of hip-hop as their blueprint, and you as their inspiration. From Kanye to Jay Z, from country to funk, this show contains musical, lyrical and comical scenes of a seriously awesome nature. Are you ready to take the trip?
