Women in comedy
Not one but two events focussed on women in comedy come to this year’s festival!
Women On The Make (pictured below) first showcased their sketch comedy in 2009, and in 2011 performed their first full show at Edinburgh Fringe to packed houses. They are thrilled to be back in Bath with another open workshop for women only – “What Makes Women Laugh” on Saturday 30th March at the Natural Theatre Studio. Meanwhlie, Funny Women are delighted to be bringing their newest event format to the Festival – a panel discussion with four women who lead double lives as comedy writers, producers and performers, followed by a performance. “Sex, Lies and Lots of Cake” is at Chapel Arts Centre onm Friday 5th April. Comedy lunches and dinners

Up at the celebrated Woods Restaurant you can have Sunday Lunch with Bill Smarme & The Bizness, also on 7th April.
As well as Earl Okin and Bill Smarme, there is a positive plethora of other musical comedy acts to be seen!
Martin Dimery brings his new show “Shakespeare Rattle and Roll” to the Assembly Inn on Friday 5th April (you can also catch Martin giving a preview of this show at Arthur Smith’s Comedy Kick-off on Sunday 31st March).
James Sherwood plays “Comedy and Music” at the Rondo Theatre on Wednesday 3rd April.
Ronnie Golden brings his Beginner’s Guide to Rock show “First A Fender” to the Cricket Club on Saturday 6th April – oft known as Barry Cryer’s uncivil comedy partner, this a must see solo show for fans of this virtuoso rock guitarist who’s played with Chuck Berry, Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck as well as out-sell the Jam and the Clash back in the good old, bad old, days of punk…
Three Bonzos and a Piano are here to recreate the surreal psychedelic music and mirth of the legendary Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band at Chapel Arts Centre on Thursday 4th April.
…and not forgetting the mighty Mik Artistik’s Ego Trip who are headlining the Opening Night Cabaret Showcase on Friday 29th March. As an extra treat for opening night, popular newcomer Emily Rose will also be performing some of her creative and quirky songs.
