The Last Baguette theatre company brings What’s The Matter? to Corsham.
Following the company’s residency at Salisbury Arts Centre, Pound Arts are delighted to be hosting theatre company The Last Baguette for a three week residency and the premiere of their new show What’s the Matter?
A riotous physical comedy about the strange and wonderful world of particle physics, What’s the Matter?features absurd humour, silly songs, dancing particles, and scientific slapstick. Be prepared for a very silly show about a very intelligent subject.
The show is a comic exploration of the parallels between people and particles, aimed at adults and older children. The show aims to inform and entertain in equal measure, and will spark enthusiasm and interest in young people around STEM subjects by making physics fun and accessible.
The Last Baguette was formed out of a shared love of theatre in Paris in 2009 by six theatre students of five different nationalities. Their comic productions have delighted audiences in France, Switzerland and Canada but are now making their long term home in Malmesbury.
What’s the Matter? was written by Salisbury playwright Tiffany Woodsmith, winner of The Sunday Times Playwright Award in 2004. The project will reach over 800 people as audience members and workshop participants in 2015, and will tour rural areas in Wiltshire, South Gloucestershire, and the South West region during the next two years.
Sidney from the company said “we are excited to be in residency at The Pound, everyone there has been hugely supportive both artistically and administratively. This is our first full-length show in the UK, after several years of working in France, and we are very happy to be premiering it in North Wiltshire, where we are making our long term home”.
Be the first to see this quantum comedy! What’s the Matter? will premiere at The Pound on Thursday 16 April, 7.30pm. Tickets are £8 (£7 concessions).
