Internationally renowned M6 Theatre Company brings Mavis Sparkle, a magical new production of wonder and discovery, to the egg theatre on Friday 15th March and Saturday 16th March.  Suitable for audiences aged 5 years and over, M6’s cosmic show features illusion, animation and humour.

Mavis-Sparkle---Eve-RobertsMavis Sparkle is the most unusual of cleaners – nothing in her world is quite what it seems. With a Magician for a Dad and a Stargazer for a Mum, no wonder there’s more to Mavis than meets the eye!  On her search for a new job, Mavis revisits the magic of her childhood and gains the courage to wipe away her doubts and embark on a new, exciting adventure.

A feather duster in one hand and a few tricks up her sleeve, Mavis takes a journey north to see nature’s biggest light show with her own eyes. With a little help from her cheeky cuckoo clock, a mischievous mop bucket and a nice cup of tea, Mavis moves ever closer to making her dream come true.

Creators of the show, Dot Wood and Gilly Baskeyfield explain:

“Alongside children’s stories of princes and princesses, superheroes and villains, there are also wonderful, magical stories of everyday characters with special qualities, dreams and adventures. M6’s Mavis Sparkle is a brand new story, full of laughter, transformation and joy. Mavis reminds us that if we dust beneath the surface, we might find there’s magic in the most unexpected places!”

The role of Mavis Sparkle is played by Eve Robertson.  The creative team behind this new show includes co-creators/directors Gilly Baskeyfield and Dot Wood and composer Tayo Akinbode.

With over 30 years of experience, M6 Theatre Company is based in Rochdale and acknowledged as one of Britain’s leading theatre companies specialising in creating theatre for young audiences. M6 last visited the egg theatre in 2012 with One Little Word.
