Onset Productions from Bath Spa University are proud to be back at the Ustinov Studio with this controversial, rarely performed, Noel Coward comedy which the author described as “jagged with sophistication”.

Semi-Monde follows a dizzying array of socialites and wannabes over a three-year period from 1924 to 1926. We witness their ever-changing lives and loves; the bitching, the flirting, the affairs and the seductions as they congregate each year at the Ritz Hotel in Paris.

Written in 1926, this decadent and daring comedy was considered too scandalous to be performed in its day and did not receive its first production until 1977.

Later in the year and Bath Spa students will head to America to perform Semi-Monde at Santa Monica College.

This is an amateur performance by kind permission of Samuel French Ltd.
