The summer season at Pound Arts includes theatrical farce Downton Abbey style, laughter, mayhem, stunning musical delights and not forgetting…LEGO


Just as spring is welcoming new life into the world, Pound Arts is preparing for the arrival of a new summer programme, flourishing with a variety of live events, films, visual arts and workshops to get involved with over the summer. The new programme is now on sale at The Pound arts centre and online.


Theatrical highlights include Sauce for the Goose, from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, featuring the largest cast ever seen on our stage. This classic French farce is a wonderful mix of passions, pace and pleasure; don’t miss it on Saturday 31 May, 7.30pm. For Downton Abbey fans, join us for a hilarious parody, The Only Way is Downton, direct from a West End Tour on Wednesday 9 July, 7.30pm.


Some gems of British folk tour Corsham including Jackie Oates who will perform songs from her five solo albums on Friday 9 May, 7.30pm and singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Louise Jordan will perform her bold, honest and striking songs on Saturday 10 May, 7.30pm.


The Pound is excited to be hosting a LEGO workshop for all LEGO-lovers, big or small! Help build a giant model of Stonehenge over two days. Everyone is welcome to contribute Another Brick in the Wall! Brick by Brick: LEGO-henge will take place over Friday 25 and Saturday 26 July. This workshop is free, drop-in throughout the days and evenings.


Finally, Pound Arts will be embarking on a new strand in the programme. Broadcaster and military historian Saul David presents a talk on Friday 6 June, 7.30pm. Saul will bring stories from the battlefield to the home front during the First World War in 100 Days to Victory: How The Great War was Fought and Won.
