Pound Arts launch their new season packed full of events to enjoy in the warmth of The Pound this autumn. From live music and visual arts, new National Theatre screenings, to a new autumn festival of Magic and Mayhem, there’s plenty to experience at The Pound, Corsham this season.


Rusty Shackle- pound arts- theatre bathJoe Stilgoe- pound arts- theatre bathInternationally acclaimed singer, pianist and songwriter Joe Stilgoe’s mixture of impeccable musicianship, breathtaking theatricality and sparkling repartee makes for an evening of ‘sheer joy’. Indie folk band Rusty Shackle captivate audiences, blending well-crafted catchy tunes with stunning high energy. Richard Durrant, the virtuoso guitarist’s evocative and Christmassy sound of early music from Christian, pagan and folk traditions will result in a show of surprises and midwinter charm.


Actor Jeffrey Holland pays tribute to his hero Stan Laurel in …And this is my Friend Mr. Laurel. There’s enchanting family theatre at Christmas time with Little Red and the Wolves, a funny and action packed version of the much loved fairytale. Hansel and Gretel is full of vibrant, traditional storytelling with laughs and songs.

coriolanus- pound arts- theatre bathThe Pound continues to screen live National Theatre performances this season with The Beaux Stratagem, Coriolanus, starring Tom Hiddleston, Of Mice and Men starring James Franco and Chris O’Dowd, Jane Eyre and, in the new year, As You Like It.


The popular talks and comedy programme features Mark Thompson, presenter of BBC’s  Stargazing Live and comedian Sara Pascoe.


Immerse yourself in a range of visual arts in The Pound’s gallery space. Artisans, a photographic exhibition by Tony Hewlett captures the essence of artists and crafts.


Try something new in the range of Take Part workshops. Adults can enjoy mastering the art of Silk Paper Making, Film Noir, Basket Making and more. There’s brand new after school clubs: Snappers! Children’s camera club with resident artist Penney Ellis and Lego Club will begin in September.
Pound Arts is excited present new Magic and Mayhem Festival in November: a delicious celebration of the rich and extraordinary heritage of cabaret, illusion, film, comedy and music. Look out for the full programme coming soon.
