As the days get shorter and the nights longer, Pound Arts present an array of live events, films, workshops, exhibitions and more for you to enjoy in the warm this autumn.

 

They’re thrilled to announce a Christmas show for all the family: Stardust will run Saturday 20, Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 December. This tale of magic written by Neil Gaiman, which Pound Arts Director Russ Tunney adapted for the stage, takes us to the hamlet of Wall, where a young man sees a shooting star that sets him on an adventure. Full of eccentric characters, thrilling moments, haunting music, magic and mayhem, Stardust tickets won’t be around for long so book now for your favourite seats.

 

Bella HardyThere are many musical delights to tap your feet to this season including Tiny Ruins, The Little Unsaid, Gemma Hayes, Bella Hardy and much more.

 

 

 

 

 

Woman of FlowersLive theatre has a lot to offer this autumn with two productions from Forest Forge Theatre Company: Woman of Flowers and Stardust; Gonzo Moose return by popular demand and locally-based theatre company Up in Arms bring Visitors, a moving drama about a family living on the edge of Salisbury Plain.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Otiz CanelloniThe family programme includes Hansel & Gretel and Puppetcraft’s adaptation of Micheal Rosen’s Monkey! There is also a packed half-term programme of films, workshops and performances including Postman Pat: The Movie and magician Otiz Cannelloni.

 

 

 

 

 

‘We’re all thrilled to launch one of the busiest season’s we’ve had!’ said Russ Tunney, Pound Arts Director. There’s something for everyone to enjoy and discover at The Pound’.

 

Following the success of the new Talks strand, we have Henry Blofeld with Peter Baxter, Andrew Motion and Wendy Cope this season.

 

Comedians include Sean Hughes, Andy Zaltzman and Susan Calman.

 

The Rural Touring season kicks off again this September with live theatre and music performances in villages across Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire. A number of venues present performances themed on the First World War and there are also some touring favorites including Two Gents Productions and Bard Heads. The annual exhibition, Pound Arts Open 2014 is selected from an open call-out to artists from the South West region. Submissions are accepted from any stage in artists’ career and any medium. The selectors will award the main prize of £500 and visitors to the exhibition will be able to vote for their People’s Prize winner.
