Fancy spending a weekend learning how to make professional looking puppets and exploring how to manipulate them?
Throughout the year Bath Puppet Workshop, based at 44AD Artspace near the Abbey, will be providing weekend workshops for adults in pretty much every aspect of puppet making and performance. Two workshops took place earlier this year and the participants left glowing reviews on the BPW Facebook page. They also made rather gorgeous puppets! (See www.bathpuppetworkshop.co.uk)
The next three sessions will be:
Get to Grips with Glove Puppets, April 18th/19th
Fleece Puppet Making and Performance (….a bit like the muppets) April 25th/26th
Professional Table-Top Puppet Engineering – May 16th/17th
All the courses are fun, friendly and supportive with the emphasis placed on your creativity. The classes are led by Somerset born puppet-maestro Marc Parrett, creator of puppets for BBC3, Aardman Animations, Bristol Old Vic, The Tobacco Factory, Green Ginger, Travelling Light, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and many more. Marc is also one half of Fly in a Pie, the company responsible for the mischievous ‘Mice on Skates!’ touring UK theatres right now.
