aving seen a small preview of ‘One Wish’ at the ScriptMIX preview event last month, I was intrigued to see what this performance would offer. I was intrigued by the premise and impressed by the bravery at that time, and I’m pleased to say the full performance at Burdall’s Yard May 19th delivered on all the potential I felt this piece had.

Whilst this piece didn’t shy away from the difficulties of life and the sometimes-futile nature of wishing, Leah’s relaxed and confident presentation style fused with quick wit and entertaining audience participation meant the performance ultimately presented an optimistic message about the importance of not just wishes, but aspiration and goals. My only complaint about this performance would be that it was potentially a little short. Running at just thirty minutes, ‘One Wish’ could’ve easily ran for another fifteen before I started checking my watch.

Fortunately for those who didn’t make it to see this performance, ‘One Wish’ will play again at Burdall’s Yard on 25th May at 6pm, and I would highly recommend this emotionally stimulating performance. Full details as always on the TheatreBath website. Thank you for reading!
