EVER WISHED UPON A STAR? EVER WANTED A MAGICAL ADVENTURE AT CHRISTMAS?
POUND ARTS AND FOREST FORGE THEATRE COMPANY HAVE THE ANSWER: STARDUST

Pound Arts are delighted to announce Stardust by Forest Forge Theatre Company will be providing Corsham with a sparkling alternative to pantomime this Christmas.

The magical story of Stardust, written by Neil Gaiman (winner of book of the year prize in 2013) was famously made into a film starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Claire Danes, and Robert De Niro in 2007. Based on the novel, the show will be created by the same team behind the sell-out success Anne of Green Gables and is adapted by The Pound’s Director, Russ Tunney.

In long ago England, amidst tranquil fields and meadows stands the tiny hamlet of Wall. On the edge, a stone wall separates the quiet town from the magical land of Faerie. Here, a young man has lost his heart and mind to the hauntingly beautiful Victoria Forester. In the dead of night, a shooting star falls on the other side of the wall, sending him on the adventure of a lifetime. In the luminescent glow of this star, he will battle witches, sorcery, and fate before finding his hearts true desire. This wonderous adventure for all the family is full of eccentric characters, hilarious and thrilling moments, with haunting music, magic and mayhem.

‘I am so delighted that we can bring Stardust to The Pound’ Pound Arts Director Russ Tunney said, ‘it is a truly magical book and to have been able to adapt it for the stage for a fabulous company like Forest Forge has been a real pleasure. We are aiming to make The Pound especially festive this year and this show, which will run for three nights, gives a great opportunity for families to join in some good wintery storytelling. Neil Gaiman is one the great writers of our age – he has a wonderful knack of making magic seem commonplace and making the commonplace feel magic. If you want to meet a unicorn, escape a bewitched forest or fight for the right to rule an ancient kingdom Stardust will thrill and entertain. I hope to see our audiences enjoying a very funny and very beautiful story this Christmas.”

The Pound will host Stardust from Saturday 20, Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 December, all at 7:30pm. Tickets are on sale now, ahead of other new autumn season events at The Pound, so book now for your favourite seats. Bring all the family, suitable for everyone over five years old.
