The Argyle Players will be presenting Alan Bennett’s ‘Talking Heads’ – three short monologues from the award-winning radio and TV series – as their Summer production.

‘Soldiering On’ tells the story of Muriel (played by Mair Smith), whose husband has just died, leaving her rather well off, until her son Giles gets his hands on the money and Muriel comes out the loser.

In ‘A Chip in the Sugar’, Graham (Michael Davis) is a middle-aged bachelor, emotionally retarded and dependent on his mother, who struggles with his insecurities when Mother meets an old flame and seems set to marry.

‘Her Big Chance’ find actress Lesley (Vanessa Bishop) having just completed filming of a video for the overseas market (in which she plays Travis, a good time girl who enjoys life to the full) but who appears blind to the sinister undertones of her story.

Performances take place from Wednesday 2nd – Saturday 5th August 2017 at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm), at The Tovey Hall Theatre, Central United Reformed Church, Grove Street, Bath, BA2 6PJ (just off Pulteney Bridge).
