Internationally renowned theatre company, Multi Story visits Bath to perform The Twelve Wild Ducks, a haunting Norwegian tale of bravery and adventure, at the egg theatre on Saturday 25th January at 11.30am and 3pm.
After having twelve sons, the Queen has long wished for a daughter. But she soon discovers you should be careful what you wish for, as the moment her beautiful daughter is born her sons are transformed into wild ducks.
When Princess Snow-Rose learns what happened to her brothers, she sets out to try to release them from their enchantment. She must weave and sew twelve shirts from nettles. And, as if that isn’t hard enough, for three years she must stay silent and neither smile nor weep.
Just as she is about to achieve her goal she hears the sound of hunting horns. The King of the far away land where the Princess and her brothers find themselves is riding out to shoot wild ducks. How can she stop the King from harming her brothers without being able to speak? And what happens when she and the King meet?
Multi Story bring their customary magic to bear in their re-telling of this traditional Norwegian tale with a blend of live music, magical word-play and the engaging physicality that has become their hallmark.
Multi Story have travelled the UK and abroad for ten years to perform in theatres, arts centres, schools and at festivals. In 2009 they were awarded the prize for Creativity at the Prague International Fringe Theatre Festival.
