Zenith Youth Theatre Company

FAME – The Musical

Kingswood Theatre, Bath

11-14 July 2018

Zenith Youth Theatre Company are putting on their legwarmers and warming up for their next spectacular production. Fame- The Musical will be performed at Kingswood Theatre, Bath from the 11th to the 14th of July, including a matinee on the 14th.

Fame The Musical proves that it has the youth hope and verve to “Live Forever”. First a motion picture, then a TV series and finally a spectacular long running stage musical which has played over 10,000 performances in over 25 countries. Now the multi award winning, Bath based Zenith Youth Theatre Company set their sights on reaching for the stars and finding Fame.

Set in the 1980’s during the last years of New York’s celebrated High School for the Performing Arts, Fame is bittersweet but ultimately an inspiring story of a diverse group of students as they commit to four years of a gruelling academic and artistic education. With candour, humour and insight, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today: issues of prejudice, identity and self-worth. One thing they all know is that “Fame costs-  and this is where they start paying”.

Packed full of show stopping songs, including the hit theme tune, and vibrant energetic dance routines Fame promises to bring a touch of the nostalgia to those who remembers the 80’s with everything from leg warmers to Lionel Richie and for those that don’t it will be an introduction to the era that brought us: The Rubik’s Cube, Cabbage Patch Dolls, Aerobics and Nintendo.

Zenith Youth Theatre Company has a reputation for staging full scale musicals that defy the boundaries set by youth theatre. This latest production is brought to you by award winning creative team of Scott Rogers (Director), Roy Page (Musical Director) and Julie Dallimore and Delia Lee as Choreographers, This team have staged well over 35 productions for Zenith, winning many Rose Bowls and NODA awards.
